Changes

Key:  Additions   Deletions

In GDesk you can change the appearance of almost everything!
This isn't restricted to application icons; page buttons and page menu buttons, plus most of the user interface elements - you can customise menus and dialogs.

A few notes:
  • Since v0.15 you can use a PNG or ICO file with a built-in mask - ignore the Set Mask options if you do this.
  • User interface elements can be varying sizes so images can be stretched across the extent of the element in a number of ways. Setting Corners: none will stretch the image directly across the whole of the element. The other options draw the corners of the image as-is and stretch the rest of the image to fill. The various sizes determine how much of the image makes up the corner - small is 1/8 of the image on each side, full is 1/2 of the image on each side (i.e. the whole image is corners, fill the rest with the middle pixels)
  • The selected size of an application icon is ignored when you set an image; the size used is that of the image. If you want a smaller icon, create a smaller image!

Feel free to post below your icon sets for everyone to try!!!

Transparent Icon

A number of people have mentioned transparent icons as a way of hiding key-assigned applications. I am uploading a simple 16x16 transparent icon that can be used for these purposes. Create an app, assign a key to it and set the icon to this PNG. The app will disappear from the screen but the assigned key will still launch it.

I have made the icon 16x16 as this is a small size but large enough to be selectable should you need to move or delete the app. To find it on screen, tick the "Set Jog Order" button which will highlight a square in the bottom right corner of the invisible icon. Using this you can find the icon to actually manipulate it.

OK, I can't figure out how to add an icon to the Attachments section so the image cannot be seen but is between these arrowa ==>Right click here and save the image to your desktop<<==. Right click in the gap and save the image to your own desktop as "transparent.png" or something similar.

Hope this helps.
